The Name
nanuq is the Inuit word for polar bear.
No other animal is so directly associated with climate change. Its habitat is melting — visible, measurable, unstoppable.
A single truck running on electricity instead of diesel saves up to 80 tonnes of CO₂ per year. For a fleet of 50 vehicles, that's 4,000 tonnes — every year.
The name nanuq reminds us every day why we do what we do. Not as a symbol, but as a standard. We're in it with heart and soul.
Our Story
It started with a master's thesis on the transformation of truck and bus fleets. Dozens of interviews with fleet operators, energy providers, and manufacturers showed: the technology is ready — but companies face a wall of complexity.
The founding team previously advised energy companies, charge point operators, and infrastructure funds at AFRY Management Consulting. Fabrice Kathmann became the global point of contact for fleet decarbonisation in the truck segment. The analysis was clear: BEV wins — in cost and scalability.
What was missing wasn't the technology. What was missing was someone to handle the entire transformation — software, infrastructure, and energy as one system.
Started in 2023. Founded in 2024. Since then, nanuq has been building exactly this system — and the ecosystem that supports it: PARQ Energy for renewable generation, STARQstrom for optimized energy delivery, and Helio Connect for financing. All connected through nanuq.
